My Personal Story

As a dedicated Inner Self and Caregiver Coach, I am committed to empowering individuals on their journey to self-awareness and positive change. My own journey of transformation began in an environment that made me feel as if I had little worth. To stay safe, I had to hide my aspirations, dreams, and hopes. This led me to tolerate a boss who treated me with great disrespect and became upset if I showed any signs of joy. But deep inside, I always had a desire to do more, be more, and follow my passions.

One day, a friend gave me the book Unleash the Power Within, and I devoured it in three days. That same friend invited me to Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within weekend, where I walked across burning hot coals and decided to embark on a journey of personal development, passion, and joy. Over the years, I worked through my childhood traumas and transformed years of negative programming.

This personal growth encouraged me to start helping others as an Inner Self Coach. When I began working as a Healthcare Chaplain in hospitals and hospice, I used my most effective coaching tools to support the caregivers I met, and they worked beautifully. I saw firsthand how transformative these tools could be for those facing the emotional toll of caregiving.

Then came a turning point in my own life. My mother was showing signs of Alzheimer’s Disease. As I navigated doctor appointments, invoked POAs, and educated my family, I realized that my experiences with dementia patients in hospitals and hospice over the previous decade had been preparing me for this journey—but living it was entirely different.

The emotional toll of Alzheimer’s is profound. Symptoms like forgetfulness, loss of language, and wandering are difficult enough, but it’s the severe mood swings, hallucinations, and paranoia that wear you down. I found myself in a world where everything felt topsy turvy, much like Alice in Wonderland. One moment my mom would appear to be her normal self, and the next she’d be sounding like the Queen of Hearts screaming, “Off with their heads!”

Yet, as the journey continued, I began to find moments of peace and joy. I started embracing the curiosity of the unknown, even laughing when I realized, she truly "believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

Now, I share the tools and strategies I’ve learned—both as a caregiver and a coach—to help others on this challenging path. I’m still on this journey, but today, there’s more laughter and peace than frustration.
